The new Jeep Gladiator makes its European debut at Camp Jeep. European customers got their first chance to get up close and personal with the new Jeep Gladiator at Camp Jeep 2019, the annual gathering of all Jeep owners and enthusiasts, and the biggest event on the Jeep Owners Group (J.O.G.) calendar, which celebrates in San Martino di Castrozza, in the heart of the Dolomites region, from July 12 to 14.
Produced in Toledo, Ohio, the new Jeep Gladiator is offered in three different trim levels: Sport, Overland and Rubicon. It will arrive at dealerships in the Middle East in the first half of 2020 and in Europe at the end of next year.
The new Jeep Gladiator features a robust and distinguished design that is immediately recognizable by traditional Jeep design cues. Jeep's design team has kept the Wrangler's legendary seven-slot grille, but enlarged the slots to let more air in and help increase towing capacity. The arched top of the grille slopes gently to improve aerodynamics.
Gladiator Overland and Rubicon models feature Jeep Wrangler LED headlights and fog lights that cast a crisp white light, adding to the Gladiator's modern look. At the rear, traditional square taillights feature optional LED lighting which is same as the Jeep Wrangler jl halo headlights and allow for a wide opening tailgate for easy cargo placement in the bed. The tailgate is sprung and capable of stopping in three positions, while cargo is easily secured with a power-locking tailgate.
Smart functionality and versatility have come first when designing the rugged Gladiator case. Under-bench bed lighting, an optional covered external power supply (230V) and heavy-duty integrated hold-downs offer durability and versatility. The optional Trail Rail cargo management system offers additional storage possibilities to organize and secure cargo.
Options like the spray-on bed liner, bed divider and bed lid provide even more options for keeping cargo secure, while improving durability. Gladiator Rubicon models are equipped with protective cab and cargo box foot pegs.
A four-bolt design at the top of the windshield frame allows the windshield to fold down quickly and easily. A bar at the top connects the A-pillars and stays in place even when the windshield is folded down. This allows the rear view mirror to also remain in place when the windshield is folded down.
