Jeep presents a new off-road package dedicated to the Wrangler, allowing it to improve its overall characteristics for off-road driving. This pack named Xtreme Recon will be officially introduced on the North American market at the 2021 Chicago Auto Show on July 14.
The new Xtreme Recon pack can be installed as standard on the famous Jeep Wrangler, as soon as it leaves the production line. This package includes a set of 35-inch diameter BF Goodrich KO2 off-road tires on 17-inch reinforced rims, a 4.56:1 axle ratio and a 1.5-inch (4 cm approximately). All this improves the ride height of the off-road and therefore its crossing capabilities. Install Jeep Wrangler led headlights to offer you a better offroad experience. As a reminder, it is always advisable to change its differential ratio when changing the size of its wheels, a rule that Jeep followed to the letter to maintain the original performance of the Wrangler, despite the Xtreme Recon pack. Another axle ratio up to 4.88:1 will be available to order later this year, only with the six-speed manual transmission.
With the Xtreme Recon package, the Jeep Wrangler gets a raised ground clearance of almost 13 inches (32 cm) in total and a fording capacity of up to 33 inches (about 84 cm). Values that are among the best in the category for a production vehicle. Thanks to this set comprising the off-road tires and the suspensions of the pack, the Wrangler has an angle of attack of 47.4° (37.4° in standard version), a ventral angle of 26, 7° (26.2° without the pack) and a departure angle of 40.4° (30.5° as standard). Features that will delight enthusiasts of crossing and post-production upgrades, which are obviously numerous at Jeep! This time, the latter will be able to carry out the operation as soon as they order their off-road vehicle from their dealer.
Customers can order the Xtreme Recon Package for the Jeep Wrangler on Wrangler Rubicon 4-Door and Wrangler Rubicon 392 (V8 6.4 Hemi) models. Production of models equipped with this pack will begin next August at the Toledo (Ohio) assembly plant. The manufacturer does not indicate whether Europe will be entitled to this specific set.
On July 14, 2021, Jeep will present the Xtreme Recon off-road package dedicated to the Wrangler and already available to order. This optional package involves factory-fitted 35-inch diameter BF Goodrich KO2 off-road tires on reinforced 17-inch rims, a 4.56:1 axle ratio and a lift kit 1.5 inches (about 4 cm) for suspensions. The availability of the Xtreme Recon Pack is not guaranteed in the European market.
