Jeep Wrangler 392 Concept: A Beast for the Field

Jeep is very given to making special editions of its vehicles. This time it's the Jeep Wrangler 392 Concept: a beast for the field.

The last time the most recognizable vehicle on the planet was offered with a V8 engine was in the 1981 Jeep CJ, with its 5.0-litre V8 engine developing 125PS and 298Nm of torque.

In recent years, Jeep fans have clamored for a production V8-powered Jeep Wrangler, and the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept is the brand's answer. Powered by a 6.4-litre V8 engine that develops 450 hp and 610 Nm of torque, it goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds.

The new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept sports a Granite Gray exterior color adorned with bronze-colored tow eyes, logos, springs, shocks and wheels, in addition to featuring an aggressive-looking high-strength performance hood, also you can find more offroad accessories like Jeep Wrangler led headlights, running boards, bumpers to upgrade, custom half-doors and the Wrangler's Sky One-touch power roof, with removable side panels for complete open-air freedom.

The interior is characterized by Rock Red leather bolstered seats with gold stitching and a performance steering wheel.

To accommodate its engine and beefier 8-speed gearbox, the 392 Concept has modified its frame and improved engine mounts. Suspension updates include new aluminum monotube Fox shocks for better damping and heat dissipation. A two-mode escapement alters the sound at the touch of a button.

The Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept boasts even greater capacity courtesy of third-generation Dana 44 axles, a Selec-Track permanently active two-speed transfer case, front and rear axle Tru-Lok electric locking differentials, and 37” muddy tires wrapped around custom 17” beadlock rims.

Mopar's 2-inch Jeep Performance Parts factory lift kit makes way for additional suspension articulation and improved approach, breakover and departure angles as specified below. It also includes Rubicon footpegs, steel bumpers with a Warn winch and steel skid plate, all to help navigate the toughest off-road surfaces.

The beefier 8-speed automatic transmission and permanently active 4x4 transfer case improve overall drivability, and massive amounts of low-speed torque enable a gear ratio of 3.73, providing greater efficiency at high speeds. speeds and better off-road capability.

The Jeep brand has several Trail Rated criteria that have been enhanced on the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept:

• Traction is improved courtesy of 610 Nm of torque and custom 43.2 cm (17”) beadlock wheels.

• A 2” (5 cm) factory lift kit from Jeep Performance Parts and 37” (94 cm) muddy tires combine to improve articulation and contribute to unprecedented levels of water fording capability (86 cm ) and ground clearance (about 34 cm), as well as improved approach (51.6 degrees), breakover (29.5 degrees) and departure (40.1 degrees) angles.
